Have had this nailer for several weeks, used over 1000 or so nails of various lengths with no jams.I bought this nailer to build a garage (good excuse to buy a framer, now I have all the air fastening tools I wanted)and chose Senco because I've had their finish nailer for several years with no problems(senco 41xp). I can't really rate it a full 5 stars yet because I haven't used it enough but if it keeps going like it has been it would be a 5 star. I've had a few nails that were flush with the surface but it looked like the heads were bent over slightly but that could be because I'm using all Paslode roung drive nails (these are suppose to be designed for clipped head nailers). The only thing I don't like about the nailer is if you would have a jam you would have to loosen a knob at the backside of the magazine to let the entire magazine slide back to clear the jam which could be inconvenient because it really needs to be more than just hand tight (requiring pliers), as it will loosen...

Senco Framepro 701XP a Great Tool
I general contracted my own house build about three years ago. I noticed back in 2003 that my framing crew exclusively used the Senco framing nailers. In January of 2006 I decided to start finishing my basement (on my own this time) but I needed a framing nailer. I called "Jay" my original house framer to get a recommendation on framing nailers. He said that all he will ever use are Senco nailers. He has been using them for years and they are very reliable. He specifically mentioned the 701XP as the nailer his crew preferred. I went with his recommendation and am very pleased with it. I just finished two rooms in the basement, going through probably 1000 nails in the process...not a single jam. The Senco has "teeth" on the tip which make it easier to toe nail with than some of the other nailers. It is very powerful and has no problems burying a 3 inch nail perfectly at 90 pounds of air pressure. I've never bought a framing nailer before so I don't have much to compare it...

Senco's
I am a construction contractor and have been for over 20 years. Senco has been my choice of air tools for most of that time. If you want quality and dependability, go with Senco. Just watch your air pressure,though. I've noticed that excessive air tends to blow the seals.

Nice tool.
I am just a DYI person. I have rented and borrowed framing nailers several times over the past few years and knowing I had a couple of big projects coming up, I knew it was time to buy my own. This thing has performed flawlessly. A couple of downsides. I had to buy my own adapter and connector as this didn't come with one. Kind of a pain particulary because they are so cheap and could just be included. Second, the depth adjustment is a bit of a hassle, although once I got my compressor set right and the nailer set right I didn't have to make any adjustments throught 2000 nails. Last, I bought the hard case from Amazon. It's a shame it doesn't come with one.
