Really sped up my wall repair and patching project!
My project had innumerable paint ridges to sand down, cracked plaster to even out before patching, and badly executed previous patching jobs to sand down and re-apply. In the past, I've done this type of thing with a putty knife and a lot of elbow grease, and I've bloodied my knuckles when the knife slipped and they scraped along sand painted walls. For this project, that would probably have taken months to do a good job, and I don't have that kind of time. I'm not a professional.. just a homeowner trying to do an adequate job with some well needed repainting.Enter the Soniccrafter with the triangular carbide rasp attachment. The carbide rasp worked through sixty years of my walls' wear and tear like a trooper. I used it like a sander, sliding it along the wall over and over to level out the surface. Sand paper is no good, of course - between the sand paint and the sand in the plaster it would be ruined in moments. The carbide steel didn't show any sign of wear after...

Rockwell Sonicrafter Trianglar Carbide Rasping Attachment
I love this tool item so much because it's become so extremely helpful as I've done a number of projects on a home that is over 70 yrs old. I've been trying to work on refinishing and restoring wood projects. I've tried so many types of sandpaper but nothing works as well as this Carbide Rasping attachment. In keeping my Rockwell tool settings on 4 or 5 and NOT applying any extreme pressure, I get the most old paint or varnish removed from the wood. At the same time I see that my Rasper does not have a lot of immediate wear and tear. I've gone through tons of sandpaper for a project, but in using a Carbide Rasper a project takes a third less time and the results are just fantastic. Nothing like trying to get tons of old paint off of porch railings and 100 balustrades, which means shoot yourself now and just get it over with. But with this Rasper, weeks on a project this size took me just days to complete. Now with paint, the compliments I've got on my porch are just amazing.

Best Rough Sander
The triangular carbide rasp is an excellent rough sander. It doesn't load with paint or fillers. Especially useful on slants of a hand rail or window frames.
