I have used rockford before and know there quality. The amp arrived even a day before it had said. This amp can push any subs you have. Never overheats never any problems.

Great Gobs of Clean Power, AND Less Headlight Dimming!
I'm not usually one to write a review on products, but I am quite impressed with this amplifier. I have been in the car and home audio world for 15+ years now and it's not too often that I am this impressed by a product. I previously had a two other amps (won't mention names) and neither one even came close to the sheer power and efficiency of this amp (both were returned) Both were supposed to be 1000w rms at 2ohms, but felt like 500-600 tops AND they were even CEA-2006 compliant amps, go figure...apparently they were using some "hokey" formula to claim to be compliant. Both previous amps were not nearly as efficient either, my headlights would dim heavily on bass notes, but now they dim only if I'm really cranking it up, which is to be expected with a stock alternator. (and yes I've done the Big 3) I like to have a lot of headroom with my subs so I'm only powering (2) 250w rms Image Dynamics subwoofers at 2ohms. On the previous two amps I had to turn the gain up nearly 3/4 of...

Workhorse
This amp is simply beutiful. i was lucky enough to find one for $350. but it is deffinantly worth over $450. i have this powering Rockford Fosgate P3-2X12 1200 Watts Dual Rms Subwoofer Enclosure and it makes them hit HARD. i had some fairly good quality amp powering them (i forget the brand) so i could break the subs in, and let me tell you this amp turned only 1/3 the way up hits harder than the other amp i had at 3/4 the way up. this set up makes my windows flex and you can feel the pressure in your chest, espically when sitting in the back, some people say they dont wanna sit back there because they want to b able to breath lol. iv read other reviews and they say the set up i have is able to set off car alarms when driving by. i haave not yet turned the gain up 1/3 the way and have not used any bass boost yet either. i can only say good things about this amp lolProsIt looks sexy as hellIt doesnt even get that warm, espically when hammering itHooking it...

Class bd
Rockford Fosgate bd topology is a revolutionary patented design, integrating a technology that is more efficient than typical class AB and has lower distortion than class D designs. POWER bd amplifiers are 75-80% efficient vs. 20-60% efficient class ab amplifiers. What does that mean? More power from your amplifier with less drain on your vehicles electrical and charging system.
Constant Power
Music and speakers have a dynamic relationship. As the frequency of music varies, so does the impedance of the speaker. This patent pending technology gives the amplifier the ability to instantaneously deliver its maximum output power to the speaker without regard to its varying impedance while still maintaining its high-efficiency and thermal performance.
Differential Inputs
Differential input circuitry measures the voltage of both the (+) and (-) input signal. The circuitry subtracts the voltage common to both conductors (noise) resulting in only the clean signal. This allows only clean signal to enter the amplifier.
DSM
DSM utilize 1% tight-tolerances improving efficiency of the circuit, decreases cross-talk from other discrete components and lowers operating temperature.
Dynamic Thermal Management
Heat is often inefficiently dissipated across a heatsink causing "hot spots". Rockford Fosgate engineers have developed an award winning cooling design called DTM. This patent pending design seamlessly manages the output of power supply temperatures, while evenly distributing the excess heat across the entire amplifier.
MEHSA3
MEHSA3 (Maximum Efficiency Heat Sink Application--gen. 3) reduces MOSFET temperatures, lowers distortion, increases durability and prolongs the output device life span.
Punch EQ2
In the early 70's, Jim Fosgate studied the acoustical properties of automobiles. Utilizing a real-time analyzer and pink noise, he would graph out the acoustical characteristics of each car he tested. Jim discovered three problems that were common to all cars: a midbass hump between 100-275Hz, a steep roll-off of high frequencies from 2kHz up to 20kHz, and reduced bass response below 50Hz.
The Punch EQ on-board equalization circuit helps correct for these acoustical deficiencies in the listening environment. When set to Low-Pass(LP) operation, it becomes a variable Bass Boost. When set to High-Pass (HP) operation, it acts as a variable Mid-Bass and Treble Boost. When set to All Pass (AP) operation, both Bass and Treble frequencies are boosted.

TO-247 MOSFETs
Rockford Fosgate amps use custom TO-247 MOSFETs. These have 60% more metal tab area for more power capacity, lower impedance and improved heat dissipation over traditional TO-220 MOSFETs found in competitor amps.
