Tina Fey & Steve Carrell are excellent in this frantic, uneven comedy
In order for a movie packed full of unlikely plot-developments and general silliness like DATE NIGHT, a cast that's easy to love who have razor sharp comic timing and mastery of their tone is needed. Fortunately, Steve Carrell and Tina Fey meet all three requirements, and thus, DATE NIGHT works on many levels.Carrell and Fey play a nearly middle aged married couple with kids. They have a comfortable suburban life, and are still fond of each other, but they are also clearly just a bit worn out by life. "Date Nights" for them consist of going to a local steak restaurant, with worn-out décor and no sense of romance whatsoever. And in time-honored, clichéd tradition, they wonder if they are still in-love with the other...because they see their closest friends getting divorced. I hate the way Hollywood likes to make us think that no long term marriage could possibly still be happy and fulfilling. True, raising a family and nurturing a career and paying...

A few laughs but not much more.
"Date Night", starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey, directed by Shawn Levy. While the movie didn't quite hit the status of one of my favorite movies Shawn directed, "Cheaper by the Dozen" it was an adequate night out. By the filled theater, mostly with the middle aged to older crowd, I am sure this movie will be a commercial success. I personally don't know if it lived up to the hype but it did make me laugh out loud a few times.Phil (Steve Carell) and Clair (Tina Fey) Foster are your typical middle aged couple. They have two kids, live in the suburbs and are caught up in the daily routine of keeping the house churning along. Groceries, soccer, dentist appointments etc. fill every waking second outside of working two jobs. What American couple doesn't work two jobs in our society today? A Vacation for the Mind
While the plot may seem implausible, I really enjoyed this movie. Since I love all types of movies (documentary, action, comedy, drama, etc.), I saw this movie for what it was...an enjoyable way to spend some time. If you are looking for light-hearted entertainment that doesn't require you to think, then this movie fits the bill. Dermot Mulroney is great as the suave date bought by Debra Messing's character. And Messing shines as the woman who blossoms during her courtship with her date. And for those who think she's too beautiful to need to buy a date, they haven't seen the many beautiful single women of the world. Not all movies are meant to be deep and thought-provoking, some are just meant to make you smile...and this movie delivers.

The Wedding Date is a romantic comedy, and to do that formula well you either have to do the formula perfectly with perfectly cast leads or you have to come up with a unique angle. The Wedding Date tries both.Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney make a good-looking couple. All of the women in this movie and all the women at my house were swooning over Mr. Mulroney who looks like he just stepped off the cover of one of those passionate-embracing romance novels. Ms. Messing has the looks and timing to pull off her role, which requires a decent amount of suspension of disbelief. She comes from a well-off family, but in the opening scenes we see that she is a supervisor of working stiffs. Her sister is getting married over in England and her ex-fiancee, who painfully dumped her a few years ago, is the best man. She wants to impress all the right people so she hires professional escort Mr. Mulroney - for $6,000. That is an expensive date, and I don't know any regular people...

Violence seemed to lay over this entire episode so that one got the increasingly unsettling feeling that a much more violent age was coming. Fall in Love for the First Time Everyday!
The idea behind this film is that in a successful relationship you have to fall in love over and over again. In this story it happens literally everyday.The performances: Adam Sandler as Henry Roth shows his vulnerable side in his best and most natural performance.Drew Barrymore as Lucy Whitmore has never been better, and has great chemistry with Adam. She emerges as a fine actor.Rob Schneider as Ula may fool you that he is really the character he is playing, I didn't know it was him for half the move! He is brilliantly funny.Sean Astin as Doug Whitmore (better known as Sam from the Lord of the Rings) is funny in this comic role as Lucy's lisping brother.Pomaika'i Brown as Nick (tattoo face) the cook, is great in his small role and deserves bigger roles in the future. Yes, I laughed. But mostly this sweet comedy made me cry
You know those movies where you see the trailer in the theater and then when you see the actual movie you discover all the good parts were in the trailer? Well, "50 First Dates" is not one of those movies. In fact, I can make the argument that while the trailer may indeed have most of the funniest moments in this film, it most decidedly does not have any of the best moments of the film. When you see the trailer about this movie in which Adam Sandler has to make a first impression on Drew Barrymore every day because she has no short term memory and wakes up every morning forgetting what happened the previous day, you would think that he discovers this the next morning when she wakes up in bed with a stranger and starts screaming. However, I am happy to report, "50 First Dates" is not that movie either.I have been trying to think of last time a movie prompted tears in my eyes as often as "50 First Dates." We know that Lucy Whitmore (Barrymore) no longer has any short...

Quality comedy with heart
Adam Sandler's previous track record has been shaky, with some underwritten comedies (Anger Management) and movies that failed to find a mainstream audience (Big Daddy). 50 firsts Dates makes an improvement by not only providing an original script that lends itself to both comedic double entrees and depth, courtesy of Drew Barrymore's stunning performance, with convincing pathos. Sandler brings another great character to the screen, especially since this story provokes just as many tears as guffaws. This is possibly Sandler's best film and boasts great comedic turns from Rob Scheider and Sean Astin. This film really does work on all levels, and considering I'm not a fan of the genre. Combining an impressive supporting cast with a sprightly running time and hip soundtrack, and you have one of the best comedies of recent years. Highly reccomended.

It’s more expensive to do it that way, but there’s sound reasoning behind it. If MyLincoln Touch is just MFT with Ford crossed out and Lincoln written in, well that takes away yet another reason to buy the Lincoln at all, doesn’t it. TL and ES buyers don’t have that friction because I suspect most of them don’t know what’s under the expensive skin of their cars. The “friction” that I suspect most potential conquest buyers have is that they are buying a tarted up Ford with extra silver plastic trim.
