Perfect upgrade for my $19 uke.
I had my doubts about the quality of my entry level soprano. The instrument looks very good for the price but the strings looked like they were only two types. I mean that the fourth and the first were the same string and so were second and third. I decided to try these strings and now my cheap uke is a completely different instrument. I know this for sure because I purchased two identical ukuleles so my small daughter would let me play, come on, they were so affordable. I changed the strings in only one of them and it had an enormous improvement. I can't wait to change the other uke's strings too. This is a very high quality product. I highly recommend it especially if you are having trouble tuning your instrument and if it sounds just plainly awful, like mine did. My point is: what can you expect for a 19 bucks ukulele? Probably a $1 set of strings. Go ahead and try the upgrade.

Wonderful Italian made strings
Bright tone. If you have a dead sounding ukulele, as is sometimes heard in laminate ukes, or you want added volume, the Aquila strings are second to none. There are other wonderful strings (Fremont flouros, Worths, etc.), but Aquilas remain the pinnacle of affordability and enhanced sound. If you own a less expensive ukulele (under $300) and it came with "no-name" factory strings, or strings known to be of lesser caliber than the Aquilas (strings such as Martin, GHS, etc.), please just try a set of Aquilas, and you will hear a major difference. There are internet videos showing the painstaking process of making these Nylgut strings in an old factory, owned by a middle aged couple, in Italy. Winners.

Don't Panic...
Don't panic, strings marked A/D/F#/B CAN be used just fine for G/C/E/A tuning... They don't seem to be quite as nice as the comparable Aquilas, but they're half the price... They were for a $20 uke... (And yeah, new $4 strings do improve the sound on a $20 uke!).

Working great for me!
I bought these strings to replace the rather flat and dull sounding original strings on my Uke. I noticed a difference right away, they sound brigher and the instrument is a little louder as well. They aren't going to make a cheap Ukulele sound like an expensive one, but for a few dollars they made a nice improvement. I went from clear strings to black which I think made my Uke look better as well. I will buy them again.

Stringing along
After buying a new concert ukulele and reading a bunch of advice on the Internet I was convinced that I needed to replace the stock strings that came with the instrument. I bougnt a set of D'Addario strings in the hope that the sound would improve and the uke would stay in tune longer. I have had the new D'Addario strings on my ukulele for about a month now and frankly I don't see much variation from the ones that came with my instrument. I suppose a "real" musician would notice a difference, but an old uke plunker like myself can't see a big change. The D'Addario black strings are OK and they look better on the uke than the clear ones that came with it. I can recommend the strings if you want or need a replacement, but don't expect musical miracles.

Bright sounding strings
First off, I'm NO ukulele expert. That being said: I replaced the original strings on my new with these. I know they stated Concert, however, reading up on this, they can still be used on a soprano or standard uke. Immediately I noticed a difference in sound on these strings. Like another reviewer said, it's not going to perform miracles on a cheap uke, but it sure helped out a lot. The sound is quite a bit louder and so much brighter as well. I'm loving the sound. Also, I really like the way they look on my pink uke; it's a nice touch. I would definitely recommend these.

great strings
these are high quality strings. don't be confused by the "classical guitar" packaging, just compare the diameters of the strings to the chart on the back - mine came in the right order but i don't know if that is standardized. I actually bought them for my smallish baritone uke, but have decided to keep it a baritone - i look forward to getting a tenor to play on! [or I might donate them to a friend of mine :-) ].

D'Addario Tenor Ukulele Pro Arte strings

Amazing Sound Improvement!
I just finished installing my new strings, and I'm in love! I wasn't sure what strings to get at first. People insisted I go with the Aquila, but after doing more research on my own I stumbled upon a video that shows what strings Jake Shimabukuro uses. He uses classical guitar strings with hyper tension. Luckily, D'Addario Pro Arte does all the work for me and chose which guitar strings I needed that fits my concert ukulele.When you get the package it has the cover just like in the product picture, but inside the packet it will say classical guitar strings. That's how it's supposed to be. I believe the first review didn't do his homework before making his purchase. You're suppose to use the classical guitar string E for G and A on your ukulele. Then use B for your E string, and use G for your C string.There is a big improvement with the sound. I really thought there wouldn't be, but I'm just blown away. I may try the Aquila string down the road, but right now...
