Lasts a REALLY long time!
I picked up a Canon MP620 as a new all-in-one for my printing needs at college. I prefer having paper in my hands to read assignments; it's easier to read than a computer screen and it gives me the ability to highlight important points. My Epson Stylus CX6000 wasn't getting the job done; the ink "ran out" too fast.After printing about 350 pages or so in a month's worth of mostly black and white printing (yeah, it's a lot!), the Canon MP620 started to complain about running out of the PGI-220 ink. I rushed to buy this cartridge, fearing that I might run out of ink before it arrived. Well, it "ran out" soon after I got the cartridge. And... it's still printing just fine.A great thing about the printer this ink cartridge runs on: you have the option to keep printing even after the cartridge's microchip estimates that the ink has run out. My old Epson printer did not give me that option, even though I knew ink was still left inside. 100 pages after "running...

Pristine Engineering
I use this ink for my MX860, and I love how it has a clear body. When your printer says there is no ink left, there is NO INK! I never see a single drop left over from a used up cartridge. Also, I like Canon inks because they come with an LED that manually tells you how much ink is left. If the red LED blinks rapidly, then it means that there is no ink left. If is blinks intermittently, it is saying that there is less than 50% left.

Nice ink, wish they recycled
I am the satisfied owner of two canon printers (Pro9000 and MP620) and am a relatively low volume, high quality printer user. I can't add anything specific regarding the quality or longevity of this ink, however I would like to point out that while the price is less on Amazon, Staples does have a very nice recycling program for used ink cartridges of all types. I would say that tossing these when they are empty may not be inline with Amazon's new greener packaging initiative, and return mailers (uninsured, and not tracked) may be a cost-effective way to improve overall user experience for this product.

Not Cheap, but Works Great
The price per print of ink jet printers is simply expensive, especially when you consider the fact that the process is probably not even close to being archival quality. Yet for most they will suffice. It is commonly believed that if you want archival you should either use silver emmulsion (what you will get if you have your prints traditionally developed by a photo lab - even a one hour lab) or dye sublimation. All that being said, this ink and the printers they go into do a very good job. I've been very impressed. I don't think there is a huge difference over the last generation, but if you want the newer printers you have to make the switch to the newer ink. Good news is that it works with the current crop of paper.What is great about this ink cartdridge is that in the canon printers it is the cartridge mostly used for black print, while the other black cartridge is used for photo prints. This keeps your cost of printing regular text a little cheaper.Buying...

Nothing like the original
I've tried generic and refilled brands and I'll never do that again. I print a lot of photos and CD/DVDs and there is a huge difference in quality from the real thing and the generic. The per page price isn't that bad and I use a lot of ink. The originals go far and is worth the extra cost.

Extremely pleased

Presently it is wise to contact the seller to be sure WHICH 564XL Black (not photo black) cartridge that he actually sells. The Amazon web pages for this product may show the wrong HP part number. I received the present replacement part in May 2011, a few months ago I got the earlier part.This particular web page shows a picture of what is more likely the old 564XL Black ink cartridge - because the package seems to show "3X the pages" but has the data indicating the new 564XL Black ink cartridge part number - which package (the one I recently received) shows " NEW lower price, smaller size Up to 2X more pages".The previous 564XL Black ink cartridge was thicker and as indicated on the package offered up to 3X the printing of the regular 564 Black ink cartridge. Great product, but uses too much ink. Use this trick to save $$
I didn't want to take any chances buying another brand (or refilled non-brand). These ink cartridges are expensive, though, and just a few changes in your print settings can double the lifespan.When on regular print settings, I noticed the paper was saturated in ink & the cartridge used up in no time. So, I changed the printing preferences to "grayscale" and "fast printing". This uses about half the ink and looks just fine to me. In fact, I prefer it because the printed copy comes out dry instead of wet with ink (that then needs to dry and could actually smudge).Printing in grayscale also saves the other colored inks -- especially when printing coupons or anything else that doesn't require high-quality printing. To further save on ink & avoid printing unnecessary stuff (like logos and advertising on various websites), you can change your print options to "print only the selected frame".Lastly, when the printer tells you the ink cartridge is empty...

3 pack is the way to go
I have a Canon MP 620 printer which I think is a great device but it does tend to use a lot of ink (or maybe I just print a lot) so having the 3 pack makes it easy to be ready for when I need to.What I've found works for me is to get the 3 pack of the PGI-220 and then the color ink () in the 4 pack and finally deal with any intermediate outages through an individual purchases.This means I have replacements for all the ink as needed and never have to urgently get some.

OEM is usually the best way to go
What can I say? Canon ink for a Canon printer? Of course this is a good idea. Some of the generic inks with this newest generation of printers measuring picoliters can clog up the print heads. This ink and the printers it's used in are some of the best Canon has produced. This cartridge seems to last longer than the previous printer I had that uses the CLI-8 ink. I am very pleased with the output quality of this ink.And this is one of the best prices available for original Canon ink.

it does the job well
The HP 61 black ink cartridge has been extremely useful for me; it works very well with my HP Deskjet 3050 printer. The cartridge slips easily into and out of place and the ink never runs or takes any time to dry.If you can catch a sale on these, stock up--they're worth it! The only thing you need to remember is to remove the pink strip of tape covering the actual cartridge before installing it.I recommend this product.
