Wow, what a great guitar!
I took a chance when I ordered this guitar. No guitar shop in my area had a Tenor guitar in stock, and I really like a "hands on" expereince before I buy an instrument, but this little guitar is awesome. It has great tone and projection and the intonation is perfect all the way up the fingerboard. There is a learning curve going from six string to tenor guitar, but it is well worth the effort. This instrument adds a wonderful folk and bluegrass flavor to any group. Buy one, then spend a little time learning the new chord fingerings, and you won't be disappointed. I tune mine to CGDA, and the sound is really great.

Excellent Tenor Guitar
The outside box was ripped to all heck, and the UPS deliverer requested I open up the box while he was there to ensure the instrument was fine. The guitar was in another interior box, well secured, and had not a single blemish, not even cosmetic. Action is great (I barred with the lightest touch, and clean, clear notes on every string). The D'addairo factory strings that came on it were clean and tuned up with not too much stretching. I tuned it first to CGDA, wonderful sustain and mellow voicing, then to the traditional bluegrass DGBD (as I already know the chord formations for that tuning), and the 4th string held the extra step perfectly. Nice and light with an eye catching headstock, and the inlays are impeccable.I purchased this from Amazon at a fantastic price and count this as one of my very best purchases ever.

Nice Tenor
The Aria A-F Tenor is a nice production tenor. I've enjoyed playing mine and it has a nice clear, bright sound, good tuners, and reasonable action and setup. I've noticed a couple spots on the back and the heel of the neck where the finish is a little rough, but the neck and the rest of the guitar are fine and look great. A wonderful value for the money and an enjoyable instrument.

Blueridge BR-60T: First Impressions
I've had the BR-60T about a month now. When it arrived, it sounded like what it was, a guitar fresh out of the box, brash and clangy. I was glad to hear that it's a loud little guy. The woods are attractive, with a nice inlay strip in the back, and all the finish work is immaculate. It does not come with a case; however, I had a spare classical-size case (also Martin 00 or the Gibson B series), and with a towel or two, the Blueridge fits pretty well. The Blueridge arrived unscathed, but I am concerned about Amazon's packing. The BR-60T was double-boxed, but with just a bit of wadded paper in the outer box. If I had bought this a month later, when temperatures were reaching 110 with a THI higher still (Texas in August 2011), there could have been some serious heat damage. Since I play GDAE tuning, and it came tuned CDAE, I took it to a local shop to have the nut slots widened to accommodate the heavier strings. Now, with almost daily play, the sound has...

Very Complete Tenor Banjo Method
Tenor banjo methods are not easy to find, because the tenor banjo does not seem to have the popularity it did in, say, the 1920's. (Not to be confused with Irish Tenor Banjo, which is tuned differently). I inherited a 1928 tenor banjo in cherry condition when my father passed away. It seemed such a shame to have such a beautiful instrument, and not be doing anything with it. This Mel Bay method is perfect particularly for anyone who has some musical experience on another instrument. Published in 1968... so, no CD included, but this method takes you through basic chords as well as scales, both major and minor, in every key. It covers both tablature and chord shapes, as well as some nomenclature that is specific to banjo playing. I would highly recommend this method for anyone who has a tenor banjo.

Mel Bay's Complete Tenor Banjo Method
Great book for an adult beginner. Although the earliest copyright is 1968, it has been around much longer...withstood the test of time...the best things usually do. My father used this method book in the 1950s. If you like your guitar and want to try something that always sounds happy, highly recommend a 4-string tenor banjo and Mel Bay's method books. This complete method book starts at the beginning with simple melodies and string introductions...then on through to much more advanced chord progressions and exercises. I also have (and recommend) Mel Bay's guitar and ukulele method books. Some come with CDs and DVDs. Have fun...happy strumming!!
