A GREAT and SIMPLE program
It's rare to come across a program that works this well, and this easy. I've yet to read a single help page or manual, and can do all I want with it to capture screen images. It has these GREAT capture modes - like automatically selecting an obvious object or of automatically scrolling a full web page and capturing that as one image. It works this easy: Start the program, press the big red "capture" button, then press the left mouse button when you've selected what you want (or more correctly, when you see that it has selected what you want). It pops up the screen in the Snagit Editor from where I simply right click > copy and then paste it where I want - an email, a Word Doc, etc. I've also made .PDF documents very easily.I'm sure that sooner or later I'll need to read at least a little bit of the instruction manual, but it's so great to be up and running with it so fast!

I don't go anywhere without it!
Fasting shipping, love the product! Snagit is a product you won't want to be without, ever. I even ordered it special at the office, it's so invaluable to me. The large company I work for (can't mention, sorry) agrees that there isn't anything else out there like it and presently offers it as a special request. They promise one day it will be a regular item to download from their standard list of software choices. And why shouldn't it be, it's reasonably priced, easy to use, and the best product for screen capture available. In addition to snagging images and editing, Snagit has separate capture settings for copying Web sites, text, including video and you can even record your screen's action in the AVI format. There are even annotation varieties like arrows, speech bubbles, and more make it easy to customize your captures. With more than 40 ways to capture your screen, what's not to like?! Snagit is areat solid product
I have used Snagit in the past and the newer version added a lot more features. I prefer a simpler menu of yester-year, like version 7, but it's a solid product. I just wish i can do screen capture without going through more steps (so i can do lot of capture repeatedly).

Outstanding product
After reading your reviews particularly the negative one I decided to write this one on the basis of my experience with this product over the last month or so. I have used it on 2 computers the one is a Mac when I am using windows under Boot Camp with an Intel core Duo from last year and also as Sony with the double core; quad core so-called i7 low energy chip. I installed Camtasia with ease on both machines and I have used it extensively both editing video software as well as capturing PowerPoint slides. I would have to say that it is one of the most impressive pieces of software that I have had the pleasure of using. I cannot understand how things have gone so badly with a person with a negative review. I have been using captivate 5, the Adobe product and also Sony Vegas pro and surprisingly I must say that this is an extraordinary piece of excellent software. Camtasia a life saver for HS computer teacher
I've been teaching graphic design for the last 5 years and Camtasia has completely transformed my practice. Prior to this year, if a student missed class or was confused with a concept, I would have to go to their computer and teach them individually. With class sizes of 25-30 students, this was quite challenging and an inefficient use of my time. Now I simply direct them to my website where my Camtasia created tutorials are available. This program looks like it has a lot to offer and to be honest, I haven't explored all the features. Camtasia 7 works fine
Having started with Camtasia 6, Camtasia 7 offers a more polished product.The audio filtering has setting for Male or Female, the Zoom-n-Pan is much smoother.It is a pleasure to use this tool.

Camtasia 7 - it's more than just a business tool
Camtasia Studio 7 is a super-powerful, but easy to use software for recording business presentations, PowerPoint shows and webcasts. But its value doesn't stop there. Think about using it for your next travel movie or vacation slide show.For years, I had used Camtasia's earlier versions in a corporate environment. We used it to record presentations and then repurpose them as webcasts and on-line videos. It is wonderfully adept at such tasks, even allowing the presenter to add quizzes and surveys to the production, making it suitable for on-line learning. The quizzes are even SCORM compliant, meaning they comply to educational record-keeping standards.But recently, while testing some new helmet-cam equipment, I encountered video with a proprietary format. Try as I did, I could not get it to play back in Premiere, Premiere Elements or QuicktimePro. I began looking for other packages that could edit the video when I thought about Camtasia 7.Sure...

Camtasia Studio is great!
I've been thinking of buying Camtasia Studio for a while - even got and used a free trial 6 months ago. I finally tool the plunge with the latest version (7). I used it the weekend after I got it for a complicated project. For such a sophisticated piece of software, my project went very smoothly. There were no glitches and everything worked just like the tutorials said they would. What a wonderful tool!

Used Daily
Snagit works excellent on every kind of media I've tried it on. Screen captures, video captures, batch processing... it all works great. Admittedly I am more comfortable with earlier versions and sometimes newer isn't always the easiest. But you get used to it.I use Camtasia twice monthly for training programs. There's a bit of a learning curve to learn the ins and outs but once you sit down and make a conscious choice to learn it, you will find that it happens a lot faster than you expected.Definitely recommend both.
