See a whole new world
I use this for checking gold ore samples in the field as well as general looking at the microscopic world.The LED light is great but I did have one problem. I left it on and the next time I tried to use it the light would not work.... dead batteries. Unfortunately the batteries cost near $5 each times 3= $15.All is not lost however. The Rite Aid (Pharmacy) had hearing aid batteries that, while not the same type as the listed required batteries, were the same physical size but were 1.4 volts instead of 1.5. I did not feel that this would be an issue and decided to try it. They worked just fine and were $16 for 24 of them, so about $.67 each. Much better and I now have 8 changes in case I forget to turn it off again.The replacement type I found was Size 312, hearing aid batteries.

lots of fun
i actually bought this so i can inspect plant resin on my flowers to see when they are ready to harvest. but i find it's so easy to get carried away with it. wall's, carpet, leaves, pet fur, sugar on the table, bugs, dirt, lol if it was in my house i inspected it. it's lots of fun. i only wish i could see the air on a microscopic level. but we cant have everything. all in all its a great buy.

Nice bit of kit.
The Carson MM-200 is a fantastic bit of equipment. The size is just slightly larger than what the photo shows on the product page. It is TINY!! The product quality, however, is excellent. It has a great LED lamp, and I haven't had it long enough to comment on the battery life. It is WAY better than the previous ones I have owned with regular little bulbs which gives everything an orange hue, or the LED ones which are flimsy as heck.I use it for various things: from checking out small bug-things on plants to fine details on stamps or even just my arm (for a laugh!). It really is quite versatile and has great magnification!Now for the bad. It is TINY!!! The knobs are a bit fiddly specially when you're using one hand and need to adjust the focus. The other pocket scopes I have tried usually have a larger gripping area and larger dials. Hopefully it will loosen up with some use.Other than its size (which I do very much like for convenience, but...

Impressive and full featured inspection camera.
As is typical, Dewalt housed this camera in a custom case with carrying handle. The unit can be stored in the case fully assembled, or in varying stages of assembly. There is a small compartment with a door for the hook and magnet attachments. The charger is stored on its side in the case. It would be nice if it stored flat in the case so you wouldn't have to remove it for charging. Some of the Rigid Tool cases are set up this way and I find it to be efficient.The initial setup was fairly basic with easy to follow instructions. There are settings for date & time and display formats for each. Charging the battery took 30 minutes. This particular unit needs the grey stripe on the camera end to be on top, relative to the handle. While the image is still not square on the screen, it is better than the inverted image I got the first time I assembled it. There is a key shaped like a hexagon that prevents the cable from spinning on the mount. This key is not aligned...

Great for an Inspector, And the Best Non-Essential Tool for the Rest of Us, Ever
Attached are a nine photographs under customer images on the product page (left hand side of page - click view and share images) which reflect what I saw in various applications using the tool and snapping pictures with the built-in camera. These photographs were stored on the mini-SD card which is not included with the camera but readily available at minimal expense. I think I paid $18 for an 4 GB mini card at a big box store. Comparing what I saw on the video screen with the photographs I captured, reflected some degradation in quality. In use, the screen shows a clearer image for the user.The instruction manual is surprisingly small, just sixteen pages. Eight of those pages are dedicated to safety and battery information. Accomplishing most tasks is very straightforward. For example, taking a picture or video entails sliding in the charged battery and SD mini card (it will handle up to 16 GB mini card,) installing the cable and turning on the two sections of the camera...

The only lens cleaning tool I keep with me
I have tried so many different cleaning tools, and I always stuck with the basic lens tissues and cleaners. But with today's lenses, they didn't do the job (speed and ease) I was looking for.The guy at my local (100 year old) camera shop recommended I try one of these.I have removed all other cleaning items out of my bag except for one "cloth" that I use to clean the outside of my camera and this pen.Always start with the "brush" to brush away any grit or sand that could possibly scratch the lens. Then lightly, use the other side (felt) to clean away smudges and other marks. It's quick, easy and unbelievably effective!I use it on my lenses, the LCD of my SLR and even my cell phone.The first one lasted me a year. I am on my second and recommend it everywhere I go.

A Great Portable Lens Cleaning Machine...
I read about the LensPen in a photography magazine and decided to give it a try. Trying to keep DSLR filters and camera lenses clean is a chore, especially when cleaning liquids keep leaving some smearing, no matter how careful you try to be. The Lenspen has two types of cleaners in one small package -- a very good dust brush and an excellent cleaning wiper for smudges or dried moisture spots. I learned the hard way that dust can build up over time, especially on the small lenses of point and shoot digital cameras. This makes the pictures you take blury and darker than they should be. Don't be disappointed, if you want to keep those pictures as crisp as when your camera was new, you need to keep a lenspen in your camera bag and use it before every shoot. Two great tools in one tiny package make this job as simple as can be!

Whoa
I used to use microfiber cloth to wipe off my lenses. I realize now how unnecessarily time-consuming and risky that was. This is a must-have. I am VERY picky about minute smudges on my glass. This "pen" flawlessly polishes them out quickly, and to me, the less time I have to spend rubbing something on my expensive lenses to clean them, the better. I didn't know water drops or smudges could come off so fast without a trace. Great product, and gentle on your glass.

Effective but defective
The Mil 2311-21 is a powerful and reasonably priced document camera. I was interested in using it to inspect a transverse beam my developer supposedly repaired.The 2311-21 comes in a durable hard plastic case. The camera takes good photos (better with more natural light) and nice video. It is also easy to switch between video and picture mode.So why the 3 stars? The inspection camera I received was extremely inconsistent in reading and recording to the compact flash memory drive. I am not sure if this is typical, but I found it concerning. When you pay $350 for a new device, it should perform without flaw. I had to insert and replace the compact dive numerous times just to get the device to read the media. Saving to the disk also presented a problem a few times as the files were corrupted. Again, I believe the device I received was bummed.This camera is only good for tight spaces. Works Just Fine
I read the two reviews and decide to take a chance. After my package arrived I checked the levels and the small one that sets on top of the scope was off a wee bit. The level glass fits just so in the plastic base and with little pressure it was seated in place. The scope is mounted on a M48 Mauser scout scope style and it was mounted by a gunsmith. Well I will not use him again and the scope was canted about 3 degrees counter clock wise. This tool works, just take your time, use a little common sense and you will get your scope aligned. Safety first!!
