Superb instrument, not just for the price
This instrument really sounds and looks amazing. When I saw the price, I was very surprized, expecting a $450 tag - it was actually $300. After playing the guitar on an amp with all possible effects on it, I was able to prove to myself that it can produce the sounds for any type of music - from hard rock to fusion to vintage rock'n'roll. It is not only a heavy metal guitar, although it can handle the genre with total ease. One of the best guitars in this price range
My main guitar is a Gretsch Country Gentleman, an amazing guitar with a distinctive tone. But I wanted something with a neutral tone for recording different types of music. No matter what effects you run on the Gretsch, you get a vintage meaty sound. So I tested a dozen guitars for 15 minutes or more each, on different effects on two amps on guitars $250 to $500. These included Epiphones, Ibanezes, a Washburn, a few Deans (fail), a Jay Turser (fail), a Gibson, a couple BC Rich's.This Omen won easily and stood up to testing better than some of the $400 guitars. (There were some $500 guitars that had a slight edge, but not enough to justify the $200).While Schecter seem to market itself as a metal guitar maker, the only things that stand out to me as being particularly `metal' are the thin neck and dual humbuckers. Knobs are volume, tone, and 3 position pick up switch.Action is extremely low with no buzzing. They had 9s on it at the shop and I changed...

Great guitar
I've had this guitar since I was 16. I'm nearly 21 and this guitar is still going strong. I haven't had too many problems with it. Just some minor fret wear because of how much play it.The sound is pretty amazing for a 300 guitar... and it can easily compare to guitars that cost more.( I would know because I have played Ibanez',Epiphones)The body is made of basswood so it gives you clean,beautiful,warm sounds.Or with distortion you can get some nice heavy tones. with no muddyness. Great for hard rock or metal.You seriously can not go wrong with schecter. They know their stuff and give people great deals on quality guitars. The tuners on this guitar are nice. The pickups are great with distortion or clean...just buy it if you are thinking of getting one. Great guitar. Love the heavy crunch for metal!

i recieved my schecter synyster gates standard electric guitar one day before the estimated date of arrival.. it was perfectly packed and in quite good conditions.. the guitar has performed well in every aspect i have tested it and i have to say.. i'm looking forward to buy again a schecter guitar by amazon..the humbuckers are seymour duncan detonators and perform very well.. the "humbucker/single-coil" switch gives a full change of tone in all three positions.. and the tone controller has a very radical change from high equalization to low equalization for all the six modes in wich you can set the pickups with the "humbucker/single-coil" switch.. even with a very specific equalization in your amp.. you can get a smooth acoustic sound using the "single coil" switch on and the tone controller near to half with the pickup selector in the neck pickup..the schecter synyster gates standard electric guitar has a great versatility.. given its look you can think that is a heavy...

Awesome quality, good looks and killer price
The quality on this guitar is beautiful. Period. The quilted maple top and black/white binding are stunning, and even the grain and finish on the mahogany back and sides is tight and attractive. My specimin arrived with a near-perfect setup - low action and just a hint of relief in the one piece unfinished neck. The fret ends are perfectly finished and there are no sharp edges anywhere. The hardware feels top-notch and the EMG pickups produce a clean ringing sustain that suits a wide variety of music styles. Even the strings that came on the guitar (Ernie Ball Premium) are fresh and good quality. New guitars in this price range often come with cheap strings that turn your fingertips black, and this was not an issue even after an hour of playing.The flame inlay on the neck might make a difference to some buyers. While I really like it, it's not exactly conservative. The inlay on mine is a dark/medium gray that looks more like smoke than flames. I'm pretty sure it's 'Mother...

First Schecter and very surprised.
I just received my Schecter Damien Special today and honestly the quality out of the box blew me away. I jumped at the chance to pick this up for $240. The emg 81/85 combo is a very nice setup (i'm a fan of active pickups) and currently own a ESP viper with 81/85's. This is my first Schecter guitar and it plays and feels very comfortable, not awkward in any aspect. It is a very dark red, pictures don't do it justice. The neck is the perfect thickness, one of the more versatile for the styles of music I play (classic rock, progressive, metal). My Gibson Explorer now feels like the chubby ex-girlfriend after playing this for a couple hours. For the price you would have been hard pressed to find anything better. I honestly like to try all my guitars before I buy but I ended up taking a gamble thanks to Amazon's amazing price. Very satisfied with this guitar.

Like the others have said, this is an amazing deal (thanks Amazon).It appears to be a 1-off guitar from Schecter, very close to their Damien Elite-6 model, but with a special inlay in the neck.The pickups are great, the overal fit & finish is top notch. Mine has a little buzz but just needs a little relief in the neck.If you've never tried the EMG 85/81, get this and enjoy!

If you only own 1 electric, this might be the one
A word about the Schecter C1 series. I believe C1 refers to the body/head style - somewhat in the Strat family, with Les Paul hardware features. There's a wide variety of styles called Schecter C-1 - perhaps too wide. So where does this one fit in? Basically, it's a Schecter C-1 Classic, without the vine inlayed neck. This particular model is made only for Amazon and only in this one color, Antique Amber. I think "Professional" means you could show up with it at a wedding and not look like you're going to segue from "Tender Love Ballad #34" into "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight". In any case, the Antique Amber in person is bold, but not tacky.The main selling point (on paper) of this particular model are the nice pickups. Seymour Duncan JB and '59, which give you a very wide range of tones. These are very powerful pickups - maybe too much so for a 4" practice amp. But the secret mojo of this guitar is that by pulling the tone pot you can turn the pickups into...

Phenomenal value!
I own way too many guitars and stringed instruments in general but when I saw this guitar on an hourly deal I figured I'd give it a shot. My collection includes all the standards, Gibson, Fender, Taylor, Martin etc.... and many lesser known guitars. I am not a virtuoso by any means, have to say I collect better than I play but I am servicable. I read some very good reviews on this guitar and am adding another one. Beatiful in appearance and exceptional playability. I have been having fun with this guitar since I received it. I play it through a Roland Cube amp and it sounds stage worthy! Great sustain, well tuned neck from top to bottom. If I wanted to malke a friend happy I'd gift them this guitar because the value can not be topped.

You can't get a better guitar with an Original Floyd at this price
After all the success I had with the Hellraiser C1 string thru, I decided I wanted the newly released Floyd Rose Version of the Hellraiser. The action is a little different and there is some slight tonality difference as the sustain isn't as strong on the floyd as it is the string thru, but you're basically buying this one for the floyd, and if that's what you are looking for you will not be disappointed.The number 1 thing about this guitar is the Original Floyd Rose. Most musical instrument retailers will try to hype up their "licensed" by not mentioning they aren't the real thing, but here you are getting it and it is a huge step in the right direction. I've had the guitar for 5 months and I've only had to tune it 5 times, it's still in the D standard tuning I bought it at (and you can check it against the tuner and it lights green right away). That is dependability right there.Also, the reason why anyone should buy a floyded guitar, DIVEBOMBS! Not once has this...

Beautiful Guitar
I purchased one of these Guitars at a local Best Buy. I was looking for a good guitar that can scream hard rock, and pull of nice cleans for blues. I researched a lot before I bought the guitar, and I have to say, I am very happy with it.First, let me just say that this guitar has an original Floyd Rose bridge. That means two things: One, once the guitar is properly setup it almost never goes out of tune. The locking neck keeps the strings in place, no matter how much you wail on it, and fine tune adjustments can be made on the bridge.Two, because it is a Floyd Rose bridge, it is harder to change out strings. The bridge is not fixed; it floats, with pressure applied on one side by springs within the guitar, and on the other side by the strings. Tuning one string causes other strings to go out of tune (e.g. tuning the 6th string affects the tuning of the 1st string). This can make it somewhat difficult to tune if you put new strings on it...

Versatile Monster
This was my first serious guitar. I needed something that could handle any style of music that i needed to play, from reggae to folk to rock and metal, and everything in between. This guitar not only handles the workload but it sings its ass off in the process. Everything about the tone of this guitar is impressive and the variation between the real high and low end is amazing. you can sound like an entire band, if your hands are quick enough to move the tone and pop the coil tap that is. Btw some websites say it has a licensed Floyd Rose. Thats wrong it has an original Floyd on it.
