Clear view, no scratches
My Grandson broke the window in our back door by pounding on the glass too hard. He also broke the window in our side door by accident by knocking something into it.So I decided to try something stronger than glass for exterior doors that have windows in them. So as an experiment, I tried using Polycarbonate instead of glass.So far I have only replaced one pane in the back door to see how it would work. I have waited until after winter to write about the results because I wanted to see how the thermal characteristics were as well as clarity and strength.I am happy to say that it was a complete success. The pane I replaced is clearer than the glass pane above it. It insulates better, keeping out cold in winter and heat in summer. No scratching. It is much stronger than the glass pane.Now I plan to replace all exterior door windows with Polycarbonate sheets this spring. No need to worry about break ins by shattering the glass. Currently...

Easy to work with
I bought this for a custom cutout on my new computer case, and it was very easy to cut to size with a dremel. The plastic protectent sheeting on both sides ensures it is scratch free until you are ready to install it. This is not what I would normally expect to find at Amazon, but with prime shipping they were by far the best price on this part.

Fast and nice shipping
The Kudos may be to the Amazon, that for the sake of this plastic sheet, Amazon used an oversized box to pack it. I don't know how much it costs to ship the sheet, but it is a great deal compared to buying in Home Depot.

Cheaper than local stores
Bought this sheet of polycarbonate to replace the glass in picture frames. Our cat took our a shelf of picture frames and we used this to repair them. The material was correctly sized and professionally packed. Getting these through prime is great as it was cheaper than going to a local store. Ideally, now that our photo frames are polycarbonate they shouldn't shatter.

Polycarbonate sheet combines high impact and temperature resistance with optical clarity and can be utilized for secondary glazing behind existing glazing for economical protection against breakage or intrusion. Polycarbonate sheet can be cut, sawn, drilled and milled by using standard workshop equipment without the risk of cracking and breakage and is therefore an excellent candidate for fabricating a wide range of indoor applications such as machine guards etc. Polycarbonate sheet can be easily thermoformed into complex parts while retaining its excellent properties necessary for demanding applications such as vandal proof street furniture. Polycarbonate sheet may be decorated using a wide variety of modern techniques such as painting and screen printing.

Unlike most thermoplastics, polycarbonate can undergo large plastic deformations without cracking or breaking. As a result, it can be processed and formed at room temperature using sheet metal techniques, such as forming bends on a brake. Even for sharp angle bends with a tight radius, no heating is generally necessary. This makes it valuable in prototyping applications where transparent or electrically non-conductive parts are needed, which cannot be made from sheet metal

Light transmission
Transparent Polycarbonate sheet have excellent light transmission, dependent of thickness between 84 - 87%.

Fire performance
Polycarbonate sheet has good fire behavior characteristics. Lexan sheet does not contribute significantly to the spread of fire or to the generation of toxic gases. For details please contact your local sales office.
