Hudson Bay - still the best wool blanket!
These have been a family favorite for years. Only problem is that they really do not make a blanket for a double bed. The 4 point is for a twin and the 6 point is for a queen. If you have a double, go with the 6 point for good "coverage."

We LOVE our Hudson Bay blanket!
I bought one of these at "The Bay" store in Victoria, B.C. and wrestled it home on the plane as carry-on baggage. We live in a climate that is cool all summer and mild all winter, so we use our blanket almost all year around, usually over a set of flannel sheets. In the winter we warm the bed with a heated mattress pad and top it with a comforter. It's so comfy and there's not a lot of heavy weight, as we use no other blanket.Yes, it's a bit expensive, but will last for decades, so consider it an investment in your health. You need your rest! Other blankets won't keep you warm, and will wear out within your lifetime. This one is an heirloom. We have no heirs so I'm wondering who to leave it to in my will. Amazon's price, by the way, is quite good for this particular blanket. If you need to give a wedding gift within this price range, a Hudson Bay blanket would be ideal. Highly recommended.

My Two Cents Worth
Since there are no other reviews of this blanket, I will try to be very impartial. Not too easy to do when dealing with something as amazing as this. When it arrived, I was a little disappointed. Compared to some of the fancy comforters and quilts on the market at a fraction of the cost, it seemed a little ordinary for something that was so expensive. Then, we used it. Wow. We usually turn the heat off at around six PM. By the time we hit the sack, the house is in the low sixty degree range. By morning it is in the fifties. This blanket keeps both my wife and myself warm as toast. Just the blanket and a sheet. Pretty amazing. You wouldn't believe it just to look at the blanket. Usually we have to pile on both a quilt and bedspread to keep comfortable, which is bulky and can get too warm. Also, from what I've read about Hudson's Bay Blankets, it will last just about forever. I have had a hard time keeping warm these past few winters, and wish I had gotten this blanket years ago. You...

Soft and warm
This blanket is as soft as my acrylics and much warmer. The size is generous for a single bed and it does not pick up dog hair. Hopefully it will last long enough to justify the considerable cost. It is marked dry-clean in any solvent except trichloroethylene.

Hudson Bay Point Blanket Review
I purchased an 8 point Hundson Bay Blanket to cover my king size bed. The size of the blanket is perfect. Plenty big enough to tuck it in on both sides and at the foot of the bed. This is an all wool blanket and it is suprisingly soft. At times during the night, the blanket will be up against my face and it does not itch like some other wool products against one's skin. This blanket is extremely warm and living in Colorado and Wyoming my entire life, I am not sure why I have not bot one earlier. This is an expensive product but well worth the investment.
