fascinating
This whole series is just fascinating. The pictures are so much more than snapshots, they truly draw you in and you feel what the subjects are experiencing. It's a walk through history. Our whole family is experiencing them and it's sparking an interest in history from everyday life to monumental events. It really brings the present into sharp relief as well; you start to notice that we're making history all the time. And, while I don't mean to portray it in any way as depressing because it runs the full gamut, it truly demonstrates that there was never any such thing as "the good old days". We're always living it, and only distance gives us perspective.For that reason I enjoyed the older versions more, but the newer ones allow you to insert yourself into them. It's a great series.

Displaying his best carpets, from Andkhoy in northern Faryab province, Temorzada said they cost 60,000 Afghanis -- about $1,300 -- but nobody is buying them. For decades Ismail Temorzada's handmade Afghan carpets decorated people's homes around the world, but export problems and competition from Iran's machine-made products have left his business threadbare. "Iranian machine made carpets are imported to Afghanistan at a cheaper price," he told AFP, dismissing them as lacking originality, durability and charm. When the carpet and rug business folds the ragheads can always return to their first love.

Best Buy says it will try to find other jobs in the company for the workers. On Saturday, the company notified workers at two stores in Wareham and Boston’s neighborhood of Back Bay that they are among 42 locations that will be closed.

Officials said they will work with employees affected by the store closings to try and find other jobs within Best Buy. MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials with Best Buy announced Saturday that 42 more stores are closing nation-wide, and one of them is in Minnesota.
