Looks Like a Toy - But Is Not a Toy
This really does look like a scaled down toy version made by Fisher Price for kids to play with, while dad has the real Shop-Vac (like those little toy shopping carts)... but it isn't a toy.We got this to do our floors -- about 2,000 sq feet of tile. When the steam mop says "sweep first" we don't want to "sweep," we want to vacuum. Getting out the big Shop-Vac had become just too much for me, so we read all the reviews and decided to give this a try.Perfect purchase.We've since added this to the chore list for the kids. They're able to do the entire downstairs (all 2,000 sq ft) in about 15 minutes... followed by the other kid with the steam mop, also 15 minutes of work. They empty when they begin or end and the tank is big enough to do the whole job.Since it is small, it doesn't get caught in doorways, by furniture, or by its own cord and tip over, the way the big Shop-Vac would do when it would get stuck, especially on its own cord...

I Called the Manufacturer to Clear Up Some Confusion in the Reviews
I needed a small vac and mini tools to keep my sewing machines and computer keyboard cleaned out. This 1.5 gallon Shop Vac was the smallest I found with the best reviews. I saw in the reviews that one person opted not to use the disposable vac bags. Another reviewer stated you needed the Reusable Dry Disc Filter (which is not included with the vac). As this was not mentioned in the Product Description at Amazon, I emailed another dealer regarding the use of the Dry Disc Filter who said I did not need it. I received the vac and in glancing through the instructions, they said you need the resuable dry dic filter when picking up dust and dry material. I called the manufacturer this date who advised that yes, you DO need the Reusable Dry Disc Filter IF you are not using the disposable filter bag (one comes with the vac). That is good as there is not much room in the vac for the bag to expand. I plan to order the Reusable Dry Disc Filters and forego the vac bag for my use. It...

Worth the money if you wash your filter frequently
I normally get the blue filters, completely clog and wash them out once a week. Comparatively, this one is much easier to wash out as it has some sort of teflon-like coating. It doesn't look as terrible afterwards either. Been through three washes and still looks new, I usually get 6-8 out of the blue ones. Will update in a few months with my findings.7/1 - it's still looking pretty good, if a bit yellowish. Still works like new, has been washed weekly since arrival. The teflon coating is starting to peel and flake as of last week. Might be because I leave it in the sun to dry, I'm not sure. Will continue to use it until it can't perform, definitely got my money's worth out of it. Normally by week 6 on the blue ones I would notice a noise difference in the motor of my shop vac due to it having to work harder to pull air through the filter. Good for dry pickup, not so good for liquids
I'd suggest the cheaper, standard dry-only HEPA filter in place of this one, unless you occasionally suck up damp stuff or small amounts of liquid. This filter is not a good choice for wet applications. I also find that this filter is no easier to clean than any other reuseable cartridge filter. It's rinseable but that sounds better than it works in practice.If you are faced with sucking up gallons of liquid, this filter doesn't work well. Unless the liquid is very clean, the filter clogs every few minutes. If I'm picking up a lot of liquid, I swap the good ol' foam sleeve back on.This filter does work well for dry pickup. No more dusty exhaust, a huge improvement over the standard disc filters. However, it's no better than the standard HEPA filter in this regard.Someone once suggested using an old-fashioned disc filter over the HEPA filter if you use it as a dust collector in a wood shop. CleanStream replacement filter cartridge for Shop-
I purchased this item to be used in a Shop-Vac that removes chips and wood dust from woodworking machines.The claim was that, vacuumed particles would simply fall off the filterafter the power was shut off. I hoped that I could eliminate the expense of filter bags. NOT SO. The filter quickly became clogged and I had to clean it frequently in order to maintain the full flow of air through the vacuum. I have since added the filter bags and have eliminated the filter maintenance problem until the bag is full. I'm sure that the CleanStream is more efficient than the original filter as far as removing the finer particles from the exhaust air. I would have given the item a 5 if it had met my expectations.

I actually like it better than the one for the first iPad
I just got a new iPad (3rd Gen) to replace my original iPad and I wanted a very protective case for it. I had an OtterBox Defender case on my original iPad and loved it. My original iPad still looked brand new thanks to the OtterBox (and a screen protector) and I wanted the same protection for my new one. I read the reviews of the OtterBox Defender case for the iPad 2 and wasn't too optimistic. It seemed to be hit or miss whether you got a good one or one that would fall apart on you. I'm happy to say that either they improved the quality in the new one or I just got lucky.When I first opened it, I was a bit confused as to how to get it apart so I could put it on my iPad. There are picture directions on the box (no written instructions), but they are vague so I had to work a bit get it taken apart.
