Product Description

The Adventures of Tintin (Les Aventures de Tintin) is a series of comic strips created by Belgian artist Herge the pen name of Georges Remi (1907 1983). The series first appeared in French in Le Petit Vingtieme, a children's supplement to the Belgian newspaper Le Vingtieme Siecle on 10 January 1929. Set in a painstakingly researched world closely mirroring our own, Herge's Tintin series continues to be a favorite of readers and critics alike 80 years later.
The hero of the series is Tintin, a young Belgian reporter. He is aided in his adventures from the beginning by his faithful fox terrier dog Snowy (Milou in French). Later, popular additions to the cast included the brash, cynical and grumpy Captain Haddock, the bright but hearing-impaired Professor Calculus (Professeur Tournesol) and other colorful supporting characters such as the incompetent detectives Thomson and Thompson (Dupond et Dupont). Herge himself features in several of the comics as a background character; as do his assistants in some instances.
The success of the series saw the serialized strips collected into a series of albums (24 in all), spun into a successful magazine and adapted for film and theatre. The series is one of the most popular European comics of the 20th century, with translations published in over 50 languages and more than 200 million copies of the books sold to date.
The comic strip series has long been admired for its clean, expressive drawings in Herge's signature ligne claire style. Engaging, well-researched plots straddle a variety of genres: swashbuckling adventures with elements of fantasy, mysteries, political thrillers, and science fiction. The stories within the Tintin series always feature slapstick humor, accompanied in later albums by sophisticated satire, and political and cultural commentary. Top to learn more

One of the best of the series
A must have for all Tintin fans. Capitaine Haddock is in fineform as he hurls an impressive stream of curses at a ship of slavers.

Buy Coke Stock

"I've never met anyone so intense," says Coke board member and IAC chief executive Barry Diller, who is buying Coke stock for the first time. This unflagging confidence that China will more than double its sales of Coke products to leapfrog Mexico and the U. S. and become the company's No. 1 market confirms what many investors (and millions of consumers) have come to realize: Kent has... The stock is up 48% during Kent's tenure while the S&P has risen 10%. Coke is the No. 1 soft drink in the U. S. , and Diet Coke has surpassed Pepsi as No. 2 in the category. Now Kent aims to double Coke's business by 2020, no small feat for a company on track to hit $48 billion in sales this year. Herbert Allen, the CEO of investment firm Allen & Co. , calls Kent "the best chief executive Coke has had in 25 years. 3 billion deal that restored company control of its bottling operations in North America and positioned Coke to ignite growth in a once-stagnant market. It's day one of the trip through Asia (Coke is letting me tag along), and Kent and I are having breakfast in Bangkok -- coincidentally, the first home he recalls from childhood, when his father was Turkey's ambassador to Thailand. "China will be Coke's largest market," Kent says. Then, eight kilometers from our destination, we are greeted by a ribbon of red banners -- 1,520 of them -- leading the way to a new bottling plant, Coke's 42nd in China and its largest to date. " The new team has ramped up spending, energized Coke's marketing efforts, and cranked up the dealmaking machine: The company is discussing a potential partnership or possible investment in energy-drink maker Monster Beverage.

But as far as soft drinks are concerned, Coke and Diet Coke are the No. 1 and No. 2 brands in the world. As tastes have turned against soda, the national preference has come to embrace bottled water, bottled teas, sports drinks like Gatorade and energy drinks. But sometimes, I see a game-changing product right in front of me. And I just have to tell my readers about how they can profit from it. You don’t have to own shares of Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO ) to know that through its worldwide production and... 1) The soft drink market is losing market share, but its dollar value is not declining. (Brief aside: Red Bull, which didn’t even enter the U. S. market until 1997, 10 years after its creation by an Austrian entrepreneur, is now the seventh-largest soft-drink brand in the world, with some 3 billion cases sold annually. Beverage Digest, a trade publication, puts the value of the U. S. soft drink market at fully $74. Coke products aren’t the most-consumed liquid overall, of course. So while consumers aren’t buying as much soda, they are still willing to pay for it, even in tough times. Beverage Digest, in its 2011 rankings, noted that carbonated soft-drink sales fell 0. Globally, the research consultancy Datamonitor pegs the soft-drink market at an eye-popping $216 billion annually. Soft drinks haven’t seen an increase in U. S. sales since 2004, which seems to indicate people are cutting back for reasons other than the lackluster economy. All told, Coca-Cola pours 3% of the beverages served to humanity each day.

Look around and find the investing strategies that are right for you. We’re here to allow you to educate yourself thoroughly for any market.
