sooooo good!
Usually I'm disappointed by the second and third books in a series. The first book creates the world, involves me in character's lives, and I end up buying the rest of the trilogy (or series) based on the strengths of the first book.... but am not as impressed by the subsequent books. Chameleon was different!I got the book this morning- was able to find some free time this afternoon to finish it- and I can't wait to read the third book in this trilogy! The suspense was increased without making it too over the top, there are quirkier characters introduced while keeping the ones you love, the drama is more intense while still remaining believable, and the descriptions still draw beautiful mental pictures (both of locations and- my favorite- what glass/stone/wood "taste" like when you ripple). Also, big props for not rehashing the entire plot of the first book within the first chapter of the second book (a la Rowling). I was able to dive right back into the world created...

awesome... couldn't put it down!!
i read the first two books in two days... i just could not put them down... unfortunately i finished the second book at 11pm which is the only reason why i didn't buy the third book right away. i knew that i wouldn't get to sleep at all if i started reading it.i love the tempo of the story, it never gets boring but still it does not seem rushed.i am already sad when i think aboub that the next book is also the last... i would love more to read about sam and will and everybody else in the book!!
