Good old fashioned answering machine!
When I say old fashioned, I mean, this is a great device from the 90's that nobody uses anymore because of voice mail. Since we purchased this handy device, I can once again screen calls, listen to messages without going through a tree of menus, or remember a passcode to enter the voice mail system. I say, bring back your old and tired answering machines! Regress, my friends, regress!This machine in particular is very easy to use, thanks to an all digital recording system. It is fairly easy to setup but does leave something to be desired as far as sound quality. Good for the price though and small footprint.

For those who still want a stand-alone answering machine
If you are still one of the few that use a stand-alone answering machine, this is probably as good as you can get. Sound is clear, and recorded messages are clear. You have 15 minutes of recording (14 after you record your message). My last AT&T machine had 40 minutes, so I'm not sure why they shortened the time, but it is not a problem for me. The reason I gave it 4 stars, not 5, is because of the strange setup procedure. When you hit the setup button, you have to press it again at an exact moment (detailed in the instructions), otherwise it just repeats itself. This takes several tries and is not well explained. So set-up could be easier, but overall it is a nice small, clean machine. I attached it to the kitchen wall (tiles) with Velcro. None of these machines have wall mountings anymore. So if you still like stand-alone answerers, this machine has basic features that you need. It also interfaces with caller i.d. and can say the caller's number as the phone is ringing.

Great phone for the price!...
I got this to replace an older Panasonic I liked a lot. This phone seems to have every feature that phone had, but with a lighted keypad, smaller footprint and no ugly antennas.The range seems pretty good. The sound is loud and clear, not extremely loud, but better than I've heard on many cordless phones I have trouble hearing on. The phone can be wall mounted. All the functions seem to work reliably. The clock / calander sets itself with caller ID info the first time you get a call after a power outage.I've seen reviews stating the ringer can't be turned off. That is false. The base ringer can be turned off using the volume controls on the base and the handset ringer can be turned off in the menu. You have full volume control over both ringers and there are many ring tone choices.There are a couple complaints about shortish talk time on the battery pack. That may be true. The phone uses a battery pack made from 2 NiMH AAA cells rated at 400mAh...

I purchased this phone for my elderly mother and I was very please when it arrived. The display window on the handset was much larger than the one she had and the type was large and easy to read. The buttons on the handset were pretty good size and they light up so she can see them. The base is uncluttered functions are clearly labeled.Mom likes it too.

OK Phone.
This is an OK phone. It is compact and light. Battery is a bit small, but holds a decent charge. I live in a smallish house, and the phone works in every part, unlike my last cordless which frequently dropped out while I was in my room. Buttons are fairly big and are back-lit, which is nice. Audio quality is good, but not great. Answering machine works as it should. For some reason the battery charge indicator graphic on the phones screen always shows it as being close to depleted regardless of actual charge level. It's an OK phone, worth its price, but if you can afford to spend a little more on a better product you should perhaps do so.

Awesome phone.
Very good sound, excelent battery life, user friendly, usefull features...This phone is way beyond good.It is easy to use, small, light. When you program the date or the directory onthe Phone #1 the #2 gets updated as well. The intercomm feature is very nice,the speaker sounds really nice and loud. You don't lose signal eventhough youare very far from the base. The voicemail is very easy to set up and messagesare easy to recall.I made no mistake by choosing this phone, it is more than I was expecting. Ifyou buy one of this you won't regret it.

Very Good Phone System For Basic Needs
This is a very nice cordless phone system from Vtech. I got this model to replace a model with which I had become very frustrated. However, I am happy to report that this system has met my expectations which are:* DECT 6.0 - to avoid interference with wireless internet* Handset usability* Easy to use answering machine* Able to use both handsets on the same callThe call quality from this system is great. My previous system was on the 2.4 GHz frequency, and was always fuzzy. However that's not the case with this Vtech model. The caller on the other end is comes through crisply with ample volume.On my old system, the "Talk" button was raised such that if you tried to hold the phone with your shoulder, you would almost always hang up on the call. I found this very aggravating, but the Vtech handsets pose no issues here. I find the controls fairly intuitive too. I have not had to consult the detailed user manual in order to do...

Great phone!
It's easy to program, has good reception and lots of cool features. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because in the Philadelphia area where I live, you must enter the area code for local calls. When paging through the missed calls, it doesn't show the area code. So if you try and hit dial from there, it won't work. You have to just memorize the number and manually dial it, assuming what the area code is. This may not be an issue for a lot of people, but it's a pain for us.

A Quality Phone System with Great Features
I looked at a lot of different landline phones before I purchased this system and I'm glad I did. The call quality is great, and the ringers are sufficient. The buttons are large and clear and have a great feel to them. They also light up for a little while when you pick the phone up from the base or press a button, so you can see them in the dark. [Yes, the screen lights up as well!] These phones just have a great look and feel to them; They don't feel cheap, and they work perfectly. The main base plugs into a phone jack and a power outlet, but the second phone base only needs a power outlet. You can always add more handsets if you find 2 isn't enough for you...
